Nothing new here. It has been reasonably quiet this week, which is definitely preferable to the excitement we had last weekend. Final estimates of the attack on the base are 45-50 insurgents killed as they attacked the base. Eleven of them were wearing suicide vests and there were two vehicle born IEDs. None of them were detonated during the course of the attack. No US fatalities and only minor injuries. I have been recruited by the Chief of Clinical Services at teh hospital to give a talk this week to the medics and staff on running injuries.
