End of Deployment
I continue to do well. I am staying occupied and more importantly staying safe. I am keeping my priorities intact, watching Sooner football whenever it is on and defending our #1 BCS ranking with all the doubters here ;-}. I hope the Texas fans there have realized the folly of their ways and have now seen how messing with my office unleashed the fury of the Sooner Nation. I trust all the OSU faithful will take notice.
I have word that I should be released from duties to leave Salerno on the 6th or 7th of November. However, I still have to get a flight to Bagram, and then a flight on to Kuwait and finally a flight back to Atlanta. That can sometimes take a week. Once back in the States, the Army still owns me for about two weeks. They need to debrief me, re-examine me, outprocess me, and aid me with reintegration issues. They determine the pace of that process. I hope to be with my family on Thanksgiving.
I hope all is well there. No more earthquakes I trust. Be sure to vote. Preserving that right is one of the reasons the troops do what they do. Don't take their sacrifice or your privilege for granted.
Phil Palmer.
